
The College of Fine Arts Welcomes New Students for Direct Admission for the 2024/2025 Academic Year
The College of Fine Arts at the University of Wasit has begun welcoming new students for the 2024-2025 academic year, scheduled from 15/8/2024 to 10/9/2024.
The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Fadhel Arram, stated that all necessary preparations have been made to receive the new students according to the regulations issued by the Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up in the Ministry. Students have been received, and their information verified at the registration office.
Dr. Arram added that graduates from secondary school branches (Biological, Applied, Literary, and Fine Arts) are accepted directly, accounting for 50% of the admission plan, as per ministerial regulations. Graduates from vocational schools in the Applied Arts branch are admitted with a minimum grade of 60%, comprising 25% of the admission plan. Graduates from the Institutes of Fine Arts and the Institute of Music Studies are eligible to apply with a minimum grade of 60%, making up 15% of the admission plan. Graduates from the Institute of Handicrafts and Folk Arts within the Ministry of Culture’s Directorate of Arts are also eligible to apply, provided their grades are not below 65%, constituting 5% of the admission plan.
Regarding talented individuals in the arts, they are accepted from secondary school branches, provided their grades are not below 55%, and from vocational branches (industrial, agricultural, commercial) with a grade of at least 65%. All applicants undergo practical and theoretical artistic tests conducted by specialized committees, including professors from the College of Fine Arts, a member from the university’s presidency, and a representative from the ministry.
